ISOLATION – Chapter 1

In the heart of Russia in the Baikal Lake lies an island named Ol’chon. Seven villages are on that island. The main one, Khuzir, counts around 1.000 inhabitants and takes his name from the small lake inside the town, representing the core of the life of the village because of the salt that animals loved to taste. Discovered in 1643 by Kurbat Ivanov, it began to be inhabited at the beginning of the 1930s.
